This may be the last heat wave of summer ’10.

Farmers are scurrying around knowing that they have just a few days left to harvest their 2nd or 3rd cutting hay.  As the newly named Earl, category 4, hurricane threatens to cause havoc with the east coast weather.

Living in upstate NY, we don’t know how to handle the summer heat.  Most people do not have

Calendula

air-conditioned houses, as it would only be used for a few days out of the year.  Screened windows are opened, fans installed overhead in rooms to catch a breeze.

Pools are busy, lakes and ponds refresh many.  Please don’t whine about the heat, soak it up and remind your self of this when the seasons change.  Yes, we will savor these last few days of summer as we know what follows.
