My enquiring mind, would like to know who invented farmville, and why? Why stay inside and play a game about farming? Did they think that it would teach people how to farm? Or maybe how daunting the life of farming really is? Or maybe to be able to understand the series of chores that farmers complete every day?
I just don’t get it. It is not even close to what happens in real life. Do people who play the game think that it is even close to reality? Do they finish their daily chores and change out of their muck boots at the door and slide into their elegant pumps ready to go out to dinner?
Farmers just can’t decide to take a vacation on the spur of the moment. Real farmers can’t just walk away from the computer assured that their day is done. I have an idea, instead of playing farmville, go out and introduce yourself to a real farmer and ask if you could be an apprentice for just one day. See for yourself in real time what farming is about. You may be surprised, and I bet you will go back home with a deeper understanding of where your food comes from.
I hope that you don’t find out that while you were out in the real world, that your farmville goats ate your neighbors prize winning rose garden.
Okay, I will step down from my milk stand.
